When your visitors register as members, they'll receive an email containing their confirmation link within a few seconds, which needs to be clicked to confirm membership to your site.

Preventing spam users and bots is very important. Ghost solves this for you by having an email-based sign up flow which prevents thousands of spam users and bots from signing up via your site.

A 24 hour expiry allows enough time for real, engaged visitors to confirm their membership, whilst maintaining a high level of security. Visitors who forget to click the link can always sign up again in the future.
